AUT announces its 2022 school leaver scholarships

AUT scholarship applications for 2022 are now open (as of 1 July 2021) and close on 1 September 2021. The value of scholarships have increased this year and contributions towards accommodation costs have also been included.

AUT offers scholarships in the following categories:

1. Academic Excellence: High academic achievement. NCEA 300 rank score.

2. All Rounder: Contribution at a high level to the school or community. Applicants under this category must hold leadership positions and/or be active in cultural pursuits or sport at a representative level. NCEA
250 rank score.

3. Kiwa: Māori and Pacific students demonstrating all-round ability and leadership potential. Applicants applying under this category must declare that they are of Māori or Pacific descent and also declare this
ethnicity when applying for admission to AUT. NCEA 250 rank score.

4. Hiki Ake (Lift Up): Open to students demonstrating academic potential but who are experiencing financial hardship or have been disadvantaged due to personal circumstances.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The value of these scholarships is now $14,000 over three years. In the first year, $8,000 can either be put towards accommodation costs or paid into the recipient’s bank account in four equal installments.
• In the second year $4,000 is put towards fees.
• In the third year $2,000 is put towards fees.
