Rā Tōmene | Open Day is the best way for you, your siblings, parents, whānau, cousins and friends to discover UC’s study options for yourselves.
On Open Day, (nearly) everything is open. You can find out about what UC has to offer, ask questions and explore labs, workshops and studios to see what student life at UC is like.
Accommodation tours are available for students and parents throughout the day with buses leaving from Haere-roa from 9am – 3pm. All of our Halls of Residence are within a few minutes walk of the campus! Open Day is a great chance to look at our excellent accommodation options. Campus tours will leave from the Matariki Quad on demand.

Classics and Music at The Arts Centre of Christchurch
The Arts Centre site will be open for students to drop into between 12:30pm and 1:30pm on Open Day. A complimentary van will depart from Ilam Campus at 12.15pm and return by 2pm.
Students will have the opportunity to have a tour of the building and a look around the Teece Museum – the perfect way for Music and Classics students to finish their UC Open Day experience.
The School of Fine Arts studios are open all day to visitors.
The Engineering Core will be open 9.00am – 4.00pm for tours of Chemical and Process Engineering, Civil and Natural Resources Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Software Engineering will also have a display in the Engineering Core. Staff and students will be on hand to showcase our labs, provide demonstrations and answer questions.
Product Design, located in the Len Lye building, will also be open for visitors 9.00am – 4.00pm.
Ernest Rutherford building in the science precinct will be open all day for self-guided tours of the labs and interactive displays. Staff and students will be on hand to showcase our labs, provide demonstrations and answer questions.
Centre for Entrepreneurship
The UC Centre for Entrepreneurship (UCE) | Te Pokapū Rakahinonga provides a dedicated, student-focused space where ideas and innovation can flourish, stimulating the development of entrepreneurs through a combination of research, teaching and community engagement. UCE is open for visitors from 10am – 2pm.
UC Business School Trading Room
Te Kura Umanga Wāhi Hokohoko | UC Business School Trading Room is a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility for students, industry and the wider community. The Trading Room allows students to put theory into practice with access to financial databases and tools used worldwide. The Trading Room is open for visitors from 10am – 2pm (Map F5)
