Want to become an aircraft maintenance engineer?

If you would like an apprenticeship with Air New Zealand or other aviation industry partners, then you need to be selected to complete a 36-week, Level 3 Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering.

Successfully passing this placement test is the first step towards enrolment in the New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering (Pre-employment Skills) – Level 3.  You will be tested on your English, Maths/Physics (based on Yr12/NCEA Level 2) and there is also an Interview. Placement Testing is conducted from at both AKL & CHC Learning Bases.

This is open to New Zealand Citizens and Residents, 17 years and over.

Once all placement testing is completed, successful applicants will be offered a place on the following years programme. Graduates can apply for an apprenticeship in the industry with employers including Air New Zealand, Christchurch Engine Centre, Hamilton Jet, RocketLab and other General Aviation employers.
